Yo voy a ser...I am going to be...

Upper school students have been busy developing vocabulary that describe people, express feelings and opinions.  They are expanding their oral fluency as they figure out how to create new phrases simply by changing one word, such as an adjective.  This week our communication will surround one culminating question, "Para ser un estudiante fantástico en la clase de español, ¿qué es importante para tí?  In order to be a fantastic Spanish student, what is important to you?   What three adjectives will describe your goal as Spanish student?  It's my hope that the words and phrases we have developed in class this term will help students communicate meaningful goals.  What kind of student do you want to become this year?  Will you be generous, daring or optimistic?  What values will you bring as a gift to our community?

This week, we will celebrate our covenant by recording the voice of each child as they read their "Yo voy a ser..." statement and later create a multi-media visual representation of the sound wave of our voices.  It will remind us of who we want to become in Spanish class this year.  

We have used fourteen descriptive adjectives this term.  How many of them do you recognize? If you were a part of our class, what three adjectives would you select for your covenant?
