¡Gracias!

¡Gracias, amigo!  Thank you, friend!

We began the year in Spanish asking each other 

what makes for an ideal learning community? 

Here is list of what your children said mattered to them most in their learning community:

amable, alegre, artístico, atrevido, cooperativa, chévere, creativo, paciente, profesional, original, optimista, independiente, divertido, generoso, hábil, genial, graciosa...

As we close out the year, we will take time again to ask the questions: 

"How have you and your classmates been a gift to others this year?"   

"What gifts did you and your classmates bring to our learning environment?"   

In all our Spanish classes, students will have a time to reflect on ways that others have been good friends and collaborators.  

We will have the chance to say, "Gracias por ser..."("thanks for being...) to our classmates and to God for the gift of learning and the context of community.  

Students in Thunder & Lightning have begun the fun work of thanking each other.  It's delightful to see children surprised by classmates and affirmed in their gifts.   They tagged each other with words of praise and thanks.  

Below is a passage from the New Testament that we will use in our closing unit in Spanish class.  In this passage, Paul, gives thanks for his friends and prays for them.  Our upper school students will also get a chance to say "gracias" to God and to each other and pray for the

days ahead. 

 I am grateful for our learning community.

ustedes; 6 Estoy seguro de que Dios, que comenzó(began) a hacer su buena 

obra(work) en ustedes, la irá(shall) llevando(bring) a buen fin hasta el día en que 

Jesucristo regrese(returns). 7….9 Pido en mi oración que su amor siga 

creciendo(grow) más y más todavía, y que Dios les dé sabiduría y 

entendimiento, 10 para que sepan escoger siempre lo mejor.
