Zuma Zuma! African Dance and Acrobatics Are On the Horizon!
This fall, students in grades 6-8 studied African drumming and rhythms from Ghana.
As a celebration and extension of this learning, students will travel to Lehman College in the Bronx
on February 13, to attend a performance by Cirque Zuma Zuma.

on February 13, to attend a performance by Cirque Zuma Zuma.
Cirque Zuma Zuma is an African dance and acrobatic troupe with artists from many different African countries. The tradition of dance and acrobatics in Africa is over 2,500 years old and it is still very much alive today! The performers in this performance attended the African Acrobats International Academy. Zuma Zuma was featured on America’s Got Talent season six and tours all over the world.
In this performance, students will experience traditional African dances, South African gumboot dancers, Gabonese tumblers, percussionists, jugglers, acrobats, and contortionists.
