The Team B's Knees: A Blast From The Past of Dead Celebs

This term, Team B thought about memorials. We started out by choosing a famous memorial with a partner, and researching it and then presenting it. We then chose a person or event that was worthy of a memorial and thought of symbolism to go along with what we chose.
We tried to diversify the subjects we chose and as a result the memorials range from Michael Jackson to Freddie Mercury to Rosa Parks.
Once we sketched out our plan for our clay sculpture, we began working on it. Every student made a sculpture and painted it. The design had to have symbolism that represented our person/event. Some people included flowers or certain colors as symbolism.
To go along with the sculpture we all made a plaque talking about the different things that happened. If we made a person we wrote down achievements and if we did an event we summarized what happened.

before the mass reproduction of wood paintings.
Yoshitoshi was considered the great master of Edo-period woodblock printing.
Born on April 30, 1839 in Edo, Japan and died on June 9, 1892.

Sacagawea was a Lemhi Shoshone woman who was an interpreter for the Lewis and Clark expedition. When their boat fell over, she went and rescued some very important documents. She went with her baby to show that the expedition did not mean any harm. She was born in May 1788 and died in December 1812.
