8th grade covenant

At the beginning of each school year, students in each grade are tasked with the job of creating a class covenant.  A class covenant is a shared document that each member of the class agrees will help the class as a whole reach a common goal for the school year.  Often this common goal is to create a safe and accepting community where everyone feels welcomed and respected.  This year eighth grade students did something a little different.  They decided to make the covenant more practical and quantifiable.

 Greet everyone, invite to your lunch table.

 When you see someone being mean, just step in.

Give the benefit of the doubt.  Try to talk and hang out with people who I don't normally.

Students have been putting sticky notes to mark the times they have met each goal.  The hope is to  record at least 100 separate acts by the end of the year.
