Fierce or Cute? Creating Crazy Animals.

In art class the sixth, seventh, and eighth grade work in small groups to create a chimera (mythical animal hybrid). They are building the initial model, and will cover the creature with layers of paper maché before painting it.

Each chimera is a combination of three or more animals.

These are examples of the students' creations; 

Koala body, fox head, owl wings, lemur tail, porcupine spines,

Zebra body and tail, bat wings, cat head, lion claws,

Raccoon head, hedgehog body, snake fangs, 

Shark head, body of a bull, cheetah tail,

Blob fish head, dog body, squid tentacles,

Seal head, pig ears, dog legs, whale body and tail,

Flamingo head, ostrich neck, cheetah body.

Some students have designed their chimera to be fierce, others cute, a few aimed to be as unusual as possible!
